Why Visit

Our goal is to provide a public learning center with information about environmentally sound alternatives to traditional practices so that individuals can make choices for a more sustainable lifestyle.

Our Outdoor Exhibits are accessible at any time by anyone, with basic information provided on signs. Our Indoor Resource Center, which includes more detailed information about some of the outdoor exhibits, is open during the WSU Extension Master Gardener Clinic hours. Tours or class field trips can be arranged in advance when volunteer staff is available.

The Green Zone ...

• demonstrates water conservation and aquifer protection methods through stormwater management systems, xeriscaping (drought tolerant landscaping) and permeable paver installations;
• demonstrates methods of waste reduction: composting, consumer choices and recycled-content building materials;
• offers an environmental resource center containing books and exhibits.
